How to pay

Pay from an app you already have, then confirm it. This page is for customers; link it from your order messages or store FAQ.

1. Pay

Your payment link opens a checkout at pay.peer.xyz. Keep the original message or order confirmation so you can find your way back.

For fiat payment apps (see Apple Pay and crypto for those routes):

  1. Select. Pick your payment app and press "Start Payment".
  2. Pay. Send the exact amount to the payment partner shown. Peer matched your order with them: they receive your payment and provide the funds that complete your order with the store.
  3. Come back. Press "I have completed payment".
Read the IMPORTANT screen

Follow the instructions for the method you selected. For Venmo and PayPal, use Friends and Family and the suggested balance/card funding options to avoid bank-funding delays. Those instructions do not apply to bank-transfer methods such as Zelle or Monzo. Keep the exact memo when checkout supplies one, leave it blank when instructed, and send the requested currency and amount. Protected or cross-currency payments can receive reduced credit; use the actual checkout result to see what remains.

Apps you can pay with

Checkout can offer Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Chime, Revolut, Wise, Monzo, N26, crypto, or Apple Pay. Choose from the options actually shown: availability depends on the store, amount, currency, destination, and current quotes. Zelle verification supports Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, and Citi only. Zelle through Bank of America, Chase, or Citi and N26 need a desktop browser extension. Zelle through Capital One works in any browser, phones included.

2. Confirm your payment

The checkout tells you which route you are on. It may confirm the payment on its own by matching the note you sent, ask you for the transaction ID and nothing else, or ask you to confirm in the Peer app or the PeerAuth extension.

If you paid with Zelle through Capital One, you also install nothing. Checkout asks for Capital One's "You sent money with Zelle" email: sign in to Gmail or Outlook and pick it, or upload it as an .eml file. Only that email leaves your browser, encrypted for verification. Forwarded or copied emails can't be verified.

If it asks for a transaction ID, you install nothing:

  1. Find the ID. It is on your payment confirmation. The "Cannot find transaction ID?" link shows you where.
  2. Hand it over. Type it, or drop in a screenshot and the checkout reads it off. PNG, JPEG or WebP under 5MB.
  3. Verify. Wait for checkout to confirm the payment and show whether the order is complete or has a remaining balance.

On eligible Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal payments, checkout first tries to match the note automatically. If PayPal cannot match it, enter the name on your own PayPal account when asked, not the recipient's name or a transaction ID. If the checkout asks you to confirm in the Peer app or the extension, see the Peer app and extension.

3. What goes wrong

  1. Goods and services on Venmo or PayPal. Use Friends and Family before sending. If you already sent a protected payment, verify that existing transfer; it may receive reduced credit. If checkout confirms a partial payment and offers Pay Remaining, use that button for the balance. If verification is stuck, open support and do not pay again.
  2. Rounding the amount. $147.50 means exactly $147.50.
  3. Changing the payment method after paying. Confirming the change cancels the active payment. If you already sent money, keep the current payment open and use the chat.
  4. Sending twice. If something looked wrong, stop and open the chat bubble on the checkout.

If it will not go through

SituationDo this
It will not verifyUse the chat bubble or "Need help verifying?". Both reach Peer support with the order context needed to investigate.
Fiat payment time ran out, no money sentStart a new payment from the expired screen. If you already sent money, do not start another; use "Need help?" or the chat instead.
Paid, still pendingGive it a few minutes, then open the chat with a screenshot of your confirmation.
Paid, payment cancelledOpen the chat with your payment confirmation. Do not pay again or start another attempt.

4. The Peer app and extension

On this route you confirm the payment yourself in the Peer app or the PeerAuth browser extension. The checkout says which one you are on before you pay.

On your phone: open the verification link provided by this checkout. Supported iOS flows for Venmo, Cash App, Revolut, Wise, and Monzo can use an App Clip without a full app install. PayPal and Chime use the full app when mobile verification is needed. If checkout asks for an install, follow its store link for your device. Zelle and N26 need a desktop extension.

On your computer: use the browser extension or the app QR route that checkout offers for your method. Install or update the extension from the checkout link, then refresh that checkout tab. A supported mobile route can also confirm the same payment; opening the app icon directly may not load your order.

The button may say "Or continue on Peer App" or "Or continue in the verification app", depending on the store. A short app code belongs in the verification app, never in your payment note. Do not rewrite the app link or use an old code from another checkout.

Support never needs your password or login codes. Use the provider login inside the verification flow; payment evidence is used to confirm the transfer.

5. Apple Pay and crypto

These methods follow their own checkout instructions and do not need fiat transaction-ID verification or the browser extension.

MethodWhat to do
Apple PaySelect it when offered. On iPhone/iPad, open the app link; from desktop or Android, scan the checkout QR with an iPhone. The App Clip can complete the flow without installing the full app.
Apple Pay needs attention or only part was creditedReopen the same app link or code to review the existing payment. Do not start a second browser payment or use the ordinary Pay Remaining flow. Open support if the charge remains unresolved.
Crypto walletSend only the token, network, amount, and address shown on the current checkout. Wait for confirmation of that transfer; a countdown or failure message alone does not prove it never arrived.
ZcashEnter your own transparent Zcash refund address (t1 or t3), then pay the separate deposit address shown by checkout before its countdown ends. If you already sent ZEC, keep the original checkout and share the transaction hash with support if needed. Do not send again just because the countdown ended or the attempt was cancelled; late deposits can still settle.
